English Classes For Immigrant Parents

We strive to unite communities across diverse cultures by fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for linguistic diversity. As a language school, we are dedicated to breaking down language barriers, creating opportunities for learning and growth, and building bridges that connect people from various backgrounds. Through our commitment to language education, we aim to instill confidence, promote cultural exchange, and contribute to the creation of inclusive and harmonious communities.

What

People say about us

Kristy Mitchell

Program Coordinator Bartow County School System

OLA has been a seamless partnership. We have worked with OLA to provide English classes to our families who do not speak any English at all. When we initially started, I remember thinking, “If we can get twelve people to come, I will be excited.” The first time, we had seventy. That was a surprise for me because when we normally do programs, it’s hard to get parent involvement. So, to see the many families invested now in this program, I know that it was something we wanted to spend our time on. Seeing these families now, continuing level after level and feeling more comfortable, we are so proud of them and how brave they are. Thank you OLA Language School for helping parents in our community learn English!

Dr. Jeanette Benoit

ESOL Teacher & Coordinator at Paulding County Schools

By partnering with OLA, Paulding County School District has opened up new lines of communication with our immigrant parents. In addition to learning English, our parents have the opportunity to learn new ways of interacting with our community and with their children at school. Thank you, OLA!

Melissa Bates

Cartersville City Schools

OLA Language School has proven to be a valuable resource in our community. From English classes for parents to Spanish after-school programs, I am thoroughly pleased with the diverse offerings and the positive impact they have on our community.

Amy Heater

Principal at Cloverleaf Elementary School

We are proud to be one of the few public elementary schools in Bartow County that support foreign-language education through OLA Language School. OLALS’ teachers really care about their students and are committed to providing an atmosphere that promotes second-language development. Perfecto for a Spanish Class!

Javier González

Parent

I really like the English classes for parents with OLA Language School. They teach useful language skills, helping me talk better with my children’s teachers and be more involved in their  school. The teachers are really nice. I recommend it to other parents too.

Paige Lenier

Acworth Resident

“I finally found this language school after searching around a lot, hoping to not have to drive into Atlanta for classes. I’m so glad I found them because I absolutely love this school. The teachers are truly professionals, not just someone who speaks Spanish. The small class sizes are great, and the classes are flexible and fun. And it’s been an easy process doing online distance learning now too”

Christiana & Mark Parnell

Cartersville Residents

“My husband and I began taking Spanish classes at OLALS to better communicate with native Spanish speakers, but we never anticipated learning so much in the process. OLA Language School Spanish classes are focused on developing conversational and interpretive skills. We highly recommend OLALS’ face-to-face classes as well as the online option”

Bridging Language Gaps

Impacting Students, Parents, Teachers, & Communities

Public school teachers undertake a demanding role that involves not only instructing content but also teaching the English language to newcomers in the American educational system. Recognizing the intricate nature of this task, OLA Language School was founded with a specific mission in mind – to assist immigrant parents in learning English and unite communities through language learning. By fostering language skills and encouraging collaborative learning environments, we strive to create a positive ripple effect that uplifts the entire community.

This collaborative approach acknowledges the challenges faced by parents in engaging with their children’s academic journey, especially when English is not their first language. OLA Language School seeks to alleviate this challenge by providing research and proficiency-based language classes. Through each of our programs, we aim to bridge the language gap, creating a more inclusive and supportive educational environment that benefits students, parents, teachers, and everyone in the communities we are fortunate to serve.
