If you live in Cartersville, we hold our Spanish For Educators Program at the Bartow Career Center & Academy on Grassdale Road. If you are not located in Cartersville but want to bring our program to your school, we can work with your school district to arrange a suitable location for face-to-face classes. We are also able to implement our programs online at a time that is convenient for your school.
Our standard Spanish For Educators course is based on the following skills and outcomes:
- Apply vocabulary and phrases related to student information, telling time, and cardinal numbers.
- Apply rules of gender and number to nouns and articles.
- Employ formal and informal pronouns appropriately.
- Introduce and describe yourself and others
- Express emotion and location using appropriate verbs.
- Utilize idiomatic expressions
- Compare Hispanic culture with other cultures.
- Communicate terms and phrases related to student needs, wants, desires, and hopes.
- Describe key school locations and roles of personnel within the school using prepositions.
- Employ basic vocabulary and phrases related to common classroom procedures, classroom behaviors, and health issues.
- Demonstrate the appropriate use of ser and estar.
- Employ irregular verbs and stem changing verbs in present tense.
- Employ phrases related to student encouragement and praise.

No pre-requisites required. Also, teachers don’t need to know any Spanish to join the program. Teachers at the intermediate level of Spanish are also encouraged to participate.
