Spanish For Educators

EMPOWERING SCHOOLS

A classroom is a place where all students must feel accepted and involved. Non-Spanish speaking teachers may need to make an extra effort to involve Spanish-speaking students in the classroom. Learning to communicate with students in their language is one way to generate involvement and help students to feel confident in the classroom.

Our online or face-to-face Spanish For Educators course has been created for teachers, administrators, school nurses, coaches, teacher assistants, parent volunteers, and others working in the school system.

Spanish For Educators Removes Cultural Barriers

I have really enjoyed the class! I specifically enjoyed the talk about culture. If anything, that has made the most lasting impression on me.

WENDY McCAFFERTY

Taylorsville Elementary School, Special Education Teacher

The content of this PD and quality was excellent. There was a great balance between learning the language and learning the culture. The learning that happened was organized and flowed with the questions. Everything I learned is applicable to my job. I absolutely love this class and hope we will have a second course!

BEKAH ROLLEY

Taylorsville Elementary - Fourth Grade Teacher

This course was wonderful from start to finish and all the materials were user friendly. I really love the real world classroom examples and all the fixed phrases I learned to communicate with my students. My students and facilities appreciate that I am working to better communicate with them. Everything I learned is impactful to my daily interactions with students and families. Thank you!

ELLEN GREER

Euharlee & Taylorsville Elementary Schools - ESOL Teacher

Extremely useful for teachers who need to communicate effectively with English Language Learners.

ANNA PELLEGRINO

Woodland High School, ESOL Teacher

This was a great class and I learned so much! It was helpful to have a little Spanish knowledge because it is fast-paced. I would highly recommend it to others and plan on taking the next level class.

KRISTY MITCHELL

Program Coordinator Bartow County School System

This course definitely helped to give me a basic introductory knowledge of Spanish in order for me to be able to interact with my Spanish speaking students.

CHRISTIE TAYLOR

Red Top Middle School Teacher

This class was fun and educational! Not only did the instructor teach us vocabulary to help us better interact with our hispanic families and students, but he provided great insight in teaching and interacting with the student in the classroom. He presented information on language acquisition and ELL’s in the classroom that I had never learned! I would highly recommend this course – and taking it with a cohort of teachers in my school was an added bonus!

MICHAELYN FINDLEY

Red Top Middle School Teacher

This course provided such an excellent way to learn practical Spanish that I was able to immediately use in the classroom with my students. After the first meeting, I was able to speak with my ESOL students, and their engagement with me increased exponentially after that. I highly recommend this course!

LINDSEY VICK

Red Top Middle School Teacher

Our maestro was excelente at making our class interesting and relevant to what we do. He taught with humor and compassion making us want to learn more. I love how the class focused on communicating not just memorizing a lot of vocabulary.
